This is Day 2 of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. I'm having fun playing with watercolors as clay has always been my first choice, so this is a double challenge for me. Maybe I will find a way to combine the two somewhere during this month's challenge.
Anyone have a particular kind of fish you'd like to see me paint for this challenge? Leave a comment....
"Blue" 5x7" Watercolor and ink
I love, love, love your paintings!! How about a sea horse? :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Sea horse sounds good..
DeleteI like the cat I saw you working on.... I didn't know you work in watercolors!
Hi Corinna! My grandfather was a wonderful watercolor painter and my brother is also very good....maybe I have "the artist gene" :-) I need some direction and will be taking a skills class that starts next week. Looking forward to seeing your other 28!!
DeleteHi Linda,
DeleteI'm looking forward to seeing more of your paintings :)
I stumbled across your work while looking at the 30-Days of Painting blog -- Wow! Love the colors you use, and the whimsy! I, too, look forward to your postings throughout the remainder of January. A lion fish could be fun! :-) Are you going to be selling any of your work? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Claire,
ReplyDeleteThank you for that! I'm enjoying doing the fish. Lion fish is a great idea, and a challenging one! All of the work will be for sale. Thank you for your interest and comments...are you painting in this project?? :)
Unfortunately, no, I'm not painting in this project -- I'm a wannabe-artist. :-) One of my artist friends is participating though and that's how I found your work!
DeleteI'd like to see your friend's work...where on Leslie's blog can I find it? What medium would you enjoy playing with? :)
DeleteMarni Maree is participating in the 30 Days Project. She's doing a series of camels in watercolor -- they're beautiful! On Day 1 she was entry #103. I'm drawn to colored pencils and watercolor. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving me the camel's number. Makes it easier to find in all those paintings! The camel is gorgeous...I've bookmarked her site so I can follow her work. Thank you... What kinds of things do you like to make with the pencils and w/c?
ReplyDeleteI really don't spend as much time as I'd like on my art -- I end up doing more crafts -- but when I do pull out my pencils I seem to gravitate to frogs. The colorful frogs. I've used watercolor with some of my pencils but would love to take a class on just watercolor. I love how vivid your watercolors are!
DeleteFrogs! What a range of fun colors there. Let me know if there is any place I can see your colorful frogs. :)
DeleteThank you on the colors.
I went with your lion fish idea. It's #100 (at least for now).
For a great place to look at color, I go to the work of one of my favorite artists...Hundertwasser. If you haven't already seen his work, have a look. It is, in my opinion, amazing...
My husband likes this one the best. Of course, his favorite color is blue. I too have chosen Fun as my theme but I am just having fun - your paintings are fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I like the idea of Fun as a theme...your snowmen are really fun! I find fish delightful so painting them is very enjoyable. Look forward to seeing more of what you are painting
DeleteA seahorse. They are so cute looking.
ReplyDeleteThank you for that. Watch for a sea horse...love the variety in their colors...
DeleteNice colors!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
