March 2016. Felted Creatures. Day 19. Francoise

Francoise |
Have been seeing some spring lambs as I drive through the country roads. I love the sound they make. Reminds me of the time I spent on a sheep farm in New Zealand. Lambs arrived every day (although in winter, rather than in spring). After just a few weeks, they were leaping and bucking around in the fields. Sitting on a fence and watching them was truly one of the loveliest experiences I've had. I watched as very young animals pushed their little bodies to the limit running, jumping and racing around in little groups. Pure joy, for them and for me.
Francoise is made of needle felted wool, with silk throwsters, and straight pins on a chalk painted metal holder.
Françoise—so sweet! Lambs are just so darned cute and endearing. And that little bleating sound they make—nothing better. Love what you've captured here in felted wool (from Francoise's mama??!).
ReplyDeleteLambs are the best. A great reminder, to me, about staying in the moment.
ReplyDeleteIt's kiwi wool, but not from F's mama :)
Corinna, what is kiwi wool?
DeleteNew Zealand wool. My friend Cynthia, who taught me how to felt, sends me wool from there. Exquisite stuff....
ReplyDeleteLOVE, love!
