January 2015...Collage of Paintings from 30 Day Challenge

Finale Collage

Now that the 30 Day Painting Challenge has ended, I've assembled all the pieces into a collage and have also snuck in a few extras.

I've enjoyed doing this during January and tomorrow, I will begin a new challenge, picking something on a different theme. Fish come easily to me, so I'll see what pops into my head today.

Thank you to everyone who had a look at my daily fish-bombs on facebook and liked and/or left comments.  I'm glad my fish doodles added a small touch of whimsy or fun to someone's day.

January 2015..Day 30 "The Grand Finale" 30 Day Painting Challenge

"The Grand Finale"

The challenge has come to an end (already)!!!!! That was a quick (and fun) 30 days. I thank everyone for following and leaving wonderful comments.

I'll keep painting every day, but will post fishies, etc here rather than fb. I've received many fun ideas and suggestions from people on other topics to illustrate, so who knows what will show up here next. If you have an idea, I'd love to hear it. Please leave a comment....

January 2015..Day 29 "Among the Goldies" 30 Day Painting Challenge

"Among the Goldies"

In this painting, I was thinking about how little guys have a remarkable knack for discovering fun and excitement wherever they go and in whatever they are doing.

To them, the World  offers infinite delightful opportunities  each day for exploring, discovering, and appreciating  new things and experiences.

How have little ones added more fun, sparkle and laughter to your life lately??

January 2015..Day 28 "Fabulous Four" 30 Day Painting Challenge

"Fabulous Four"

I was thinking of friends when I made this little painting. Our similarities draw us together and our differences keep things lively, interesting and fun. Each in our own little world, but coming together to create a special place to share laughs, tears, accomplishments, milestones, dreams, coffee and chocolate ganache filled macarons.

January 2015..Day 14 "Picasso's fish tank" 30 Day Painting Challenge

"Picasso's Fish Tank"

Recently, I ran across one of those articles about how some people and their pets look alike. This could be a good thing (or not) depending on the variables involved. That got me thinking about artists...what if their pets looked more like the art they created? I've decided to play a bit with this idea and see what comes out of  it.....

January 2015..Day 5 "The Storyteller (Bud's Light)" 30 Day Painting Challenge

"The Storyteller (Bud's Light)"

As a kid, I loved hearing stories on just about every topic. These stories came via family, teachers, neighbors, and friends. On occasion, I found myself accidentally eavesdropping (and completely fascinated) in places like grocery stores, cafe's and restaurants, slightly mortified yet unable to pull myself away, and picking up a real doozy here and there. Amazing things floating around in story form.

The best storytellers pulled us in by weaving sound effects, gestures, and excitement through their tales. I became so absorbed, I would end up in an almost trance-like state.

I'm wondering what story this lantern fish is telling all the little goldies...

January 2015..Day 4 "Coffee First" 30 Day Painting Challenge

"Coffee First"

How many of us start our day off with a good cup of really strong coffee? I do and for the last few months, have turbo charged it by adding a tablespoon each of coconut oil and grass-fed butter, oh and a touch of heavy cream for added flavor.

As I sipped my cuppa one morning, I looked through a little book of weird facts...opening it to a random page, it said fish get very angry when given antidepressants. That got me wondering how fish would respond to a cup of early morning coffee.

January 2015..Day 3 "Heads Up" 30 Day Painting Challenge

Heads Up

Years ago, I had an aquarium in my lounge and I loved stopping by throughout the day to watch as the assorted fish and tiny frogs moved around. Often, a small group of fish would appear to gather and look back at me. I wondered what it would be like to look out from the other side of the glass.

January 2015..Day 2 "Blue" 30 Day Painting Challenge

"Blue"

This is Day 2 of Leslie Saeta's  30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. I'm having fun playing with watercolors as clay has always been my first choice, so this is a double challenge for me. Maybe I will find a way to combine the two somewhere during this month's challenge.

Anyone have a particular kind of fish you'd like to see me paint for this challenge? Leave a comment....
